Spectacular Spring Miracles!

"Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples." -Psalm 77:13-14

This spring, as the sun shined, the birds chirped, and citizens of Atlanta pulled out their shorts and flip flops, the Greater Atlanta Church of Christ Campus Ministry has been hard at work. God has truly blessed us with amazing miracles throughout this semester. As it comes to a close, we would like to present to you our newest brothers and sisters in Christ!

Our first springtime baptism was Jimmy Sommerville. A freshman accounting major at Georgia State University, Jimmy was baptized on March 17, 2008!

Hailing out of Philadelphia, PA, Morehouse-man Leland Kent said, “Jesus is Lord!” on March, 31, 2008! Leland is a freshman math major.

Another freshman at Morehouse College, Ian Minerve took the plunge of faith on April 6, 2008! When he’s not praising God and hitting the books, you can catch this brother krump dancing and breaking it down on the dance floor!

But God had more than one soul He planned on saving that day. Ian’s spiritual twin, Grace Roberts, was baptized as well! Grace is the newest member of the Greater Atlanta Singles Ministry and is the mother of two beautiful children!

Clark Atlanta junior english major, Elizabeth Joiner was baptized the very next day on April 7, 2008! Having studied for an entire year, Elizabeth finally got her sins washed away! Check out her conversion story!

Isaiah Colehaus Ervin or “ICE” was baptized April 28, 2008! A freshman at Georgia State University, you can catch Isaiah on the football field making a play or in the kitchen making one of his homemade velvet cakes! The Souled Out Souljahs reached out to Isaiah after their performance at the GSU History Makers Talent Show.

Only two days later, Megan Gee decided to die to sin and be reborn in Christ on April 30, 2008! A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Megan is an employee at a community center where she works with children while she takes a break from her tenure at Duke University. She started studying the Bible after a sister who works with her invited her to play tennis!

Clark Atlanta University closed out the semester with the baptism of track athlete, Rob Rosidor! This eager brother studied the Bible in a week and a half and was baptized on May 2, 2008 making three baptisms in one week!

We have truly seen God bring forth an abundance of miracles this semester. These baptisms along with the ones we had earlier in the semester makes 12 baptisms! That’s not including the 4 that singles had as well! Plus, Paul Vandrees baptized his wife on the same day Rob was baptized! We are just so thankful to God. But of course the work of a disciple is never done! As we enter the summer, our campus ministry along with the rest of the Greater Atlanta Church of Christ will be having "City Search 2008!" This summer we will be covering the entire city of Atlanta, searching to save not only college students but men and women of all ages and backgrounds that are lost. Please pray for us as we work to expand God’s kingdom!
