Make that 3!
By Christina Maldonado
Just a little over two weeks after our first baptism on the Clark Atlanta campus, Robin Norman, another student at Clark Atlanta, decided to make Jesus Lord of her life, getting baptized on Wednesday, October 18 and becoming our third baptism in the month of October!
Robin just happened to be sitting in the room where our first bible talk of the semester would be held and decided to stay for the discussion. Originally, she had been sitting there to wait on her friend to pick her up not knowing that God had other plans in store for her. From the beginning, sisters like Elisa De La Cruz really loved up on Robin and encouraged her to study out the word of God. Immediately, Robin had such a learner's heart and began to be open about her life. Soon, she started to come out to church events and it was amazing to see the transformation from the old Robin to a “new, transformed by the word of God” Robin. When an obstacle came up during her studies, Robin had one response, to give everything she had in pursuing her relationship with God. She was ready to put off her old life and become the woman that God wanted her to be and she wouldn't let anything stand in her way.
The sisters and Robin had no problem growing closer and spending more and more time together. Robin's baptism was a reflection of this love as the sisters couldn't share enough about how she had encouraged them and Robin couldn't share enough about the church family she appreciated and felt loved by. The fact that Robin requested four sisters to baptize her (Elisa De La Cruz, Danielle Ogbulu, Toni Katchen and Nia Reed) really demonstrates how the family became involved in Robin's life. Robin has been reborn and is more excited now then ever to live the life she's been called to live and to share the word with her family, friends, and the students at Clark Atlanta. We are so excited for Robin's future and happy to have her as our new sister in Christ!
