GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: Reflecting on the Cross
On Friday, April 6th, the GACC held an inpsirational Good Friday communion service. Three brothers read the Passion accounts from Matthew, Luke, and John in between prayers and songs that reflected on the Cross. A huge wooden cross was carried in by three ushers and laid against the front stage. During the tune of the song VIA DOLOROSA (which indicates the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion), people were asked to come up to hammer a nail into the wooden cross, and then to partake in communion. Emotions ran high as each person examined their hearts and re-called their personal sins that put Jesus on the cross. It was obvious that hearts were renewed and changed forever that night.
