"You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it." (Isaiah 45:8) Click on the picture to see Keith Hegidio's (middle) baptism video.
God rained down showers of blessings on the Greater Atlanta Church of Christ (GACC) in the month of April. We are grateful and humbled that God has allowed us to see so many miracles in only 30 days. In that time, the church came together as one man contending for the gospel through several events that brought much glory to Him. (Philippians 1:27) We even stood together through the devil's attack as we had to publicly warn several members of our congregation who were involved in unrepentant sexual sin. (Matt. 18:15-17, 1 Cor. 5:11) In the midst of trials, God's desire for salvation to spring up was fulfilled as seven souls were baptized into Christ, including mature single and married men, single women and college students. Here are some highlights from the past month: On the first Sunday of April, Lead Evangelist Mike Patterson and Les Johnson appointed 26-year old Angel Maldonado as an evangelist of the Greater Atlanta Church of Christ. The congregation cheered emphatically as the announcement was made and the charge was given for Angel to preach the Word. (2 Timothy 4:1-2) Overwhelmed with emotions of gratitude, Angel thanked God for the privilege to serve His church in this capacity. The evening consisted of powerful preaching, soul-stirring sharing and heart-felt fellowship. GACC Women's Ministry Leader, Shawn Patterson, served as the keynote speaker sharing a lesson titled, "Jesus is Our Heart's Desire." Not only do we look forward to the hope of heaven, but God has blessed us with the opportunity to have a dynamic relationship with Him on earth, personally and as a church. Continue to pray for us as we strive to win souls for Christ and give everyone a chance to live a life that loves without stopping. (1 Corinthians 16:13) We leave you with this encouraging scripture we hope will inspire you to allow God's word to accomplish its purpose in your life and share it with people in your towns and cities. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
